The Beginning of "Stardom"
When meeting people I usually hear, "You're that girl from Food Network!" or "I saw you on Food Network!" THAT"S ME!!! I was featured in Food Network Star Kids on 4 out of 6 episodes. Being chosen for Food Network changed my life completely and it grew my passion for cooking. After being eliminated I knew I definetly didn't want to stop cooking, so I started this business to showcase all of my many talents. My Mom always told me "it's better to showcase all of your many talents then to only showcase one and lose the others." I took her advice and now my business has been up and running since 2016 (that comes from listening to your mom, they always know what's right).
Competitions
While starting my business I participated in many vendor/ exposure opportunities to grow my business. I competed in the Auntie Karen Foundation Young Entrepreneur Showcase in 2017 and won 1st place as the Young Entrepreneur of the year. It was at that event where I met Norma Brown who told me then that God has so much in store for me and that she wanted to help with my business. She says that I inspired her to start a camp for Young Entrepreneurs to start businesses and I then competed in that camp and won 1st place. Mrs. Brown is still today supporting me and is a great mentor and has now started the Young CEO's of Tomorrow (which I am the president of).
YESCarolina Competition
The Shark Tank competition led me me to this competition where I WON 1st place at the 2019 State YESCarolina Business Plan Competition!
Out of 41 high school students, I was the youngest and only 8th grader, that competed. There were three (3) rounds of business plan presentations (like Shark Tank), in front of five (5) different judges, from the hours of 9am-4pm.
I showcased three (3) main components that make up why the Tyra’s BIG World of Flavor name means so much in my business and how I tie it all together to marketing “ME”:
1. Food (Personal Chef, Caterer, & Cooking Demonstrator)
2. Technology (Youtube & Podcast)
3.Product’s (Motivational Speaking, Seasoning’s & Merchandise)
Due to a job well done; as they say, “Marketing Myself”, I won a cash prize (to go towards my business) and a Trip to New York.

NEWS NEWS NEWS
After Food Network things were pretty busy due to the many articles, news stations, radio stations, magazines, etc wanting to know about a young 11 year old girl from Irmo, SC. I was featured on every news station in Columbia, SC and some stations in Spartanburg,SC. On the newscasts I would normally create one of my signature dishes and tell about my experience on the show. Some news and radio stations have even granted me the opportunity to come in for interviews whenever I would like!
The P.U.S.H-T.H.R.U Talk
Through my journey of sharing food, I also share my journey and influences. Which has motivated me to start The P.U.S.H. – T.H.R.U. Movement (Powerful, Unique, Successful Heroes That Have Risen Untouched) which was started to help people overcome the struggle of living without a father (like me), mother, in foster care, raised by grandparents, etc.… and still becoming successful. This Movement will be shared through my Podcast “P.U.S.H.-T.H.R.U. Talk” and YouTube Channel “Tyra’s BIG World of Flavor”; as well as holding seminars, broadcasting and even more to get the word across for help.
Catering for Celebrities!
This event was after I won the Auntie Karen Foundation Young Entrepreneur of the Year of 2017. For this event I catered for 2 legends and it is also my first time catering for celebrities. I had to not only cater for Morris Day and Sheila E, but many V.I.P guests attending the concert. Since then I have catered for many other celebrities: Donald Lawrence, Tweet, DJ Swearinger, The Isley Brothers, Alex English, and many Football players at DJ Swearingers Annual Celebrity Basketball Game (3 years in a row).
First Personal Chef Event
This was my very first Personal Chef Job back in 2017 for another fellow business owner Quiana Gee (owner of LadyQEvents) Go check out her website link below. (Trendy style Event Planning and Logistics Management Agency specializing in an innovative design.)
Art and Food
This event was one of the most tedious events ever, but it was definetly worth the beautiful outcome. For this event I prepared appetizer dishes for an art gallery. The dishes needed to be small but powerful in a bite and beautiful to the eyes. This food was also prepared for Hall of Famer Alex English!
